About Us

A Ministry of Service, Powered by Volunteers

People Helping People (PHP) is Hood County’s oldest food pantry, serving the community since 1983. As a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3), every donation goes directly to helping local families in need. Each week, PHP distributes about 4,000 pounds of food to 150-200 households.

PHP also operates two Resale Shops with donated clothing, furniture, and household items. Shop proceeds help fund food purchases. The Food Pantry is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and donations are accepted at 306 Kings Plaza, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Food Pantry

Hood County’s Oldest Food Pantry

Our Food Pantry is here to support individuals and families in need throughout Hood County. Clients are welcome to visit twice a month, with at least 14 days between visits, to receive groceries and essential food items. The pantry is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., staffed entirely by caring volunteers.

Resale Shop

Donate. Shop.
Make a Difference.

Our Resale Shops play a vital role in supporting our mission by helping fund food purchases for our pantry. Stocked with new items daily, the shops offer affordable clothing, household goods, furniture, decorations, and seasonal items – all generously donated by the community.

Donations are accepted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 306 Kings Plaza. Every purchase and donation helps feed families in need right here in Hood County.
